I run a small business and need a tax attorney. Do tax attorneys not only advise you but also do your taxes for you? Or should I just use my accountant to file and the tax attorney for legal advise?
I definitely need a tax attorney, there are some complicated legal and tax matters with my business. My question is does the tax attorney do my taxes or do I keep my accountant for that purpose?

he is 26 and has no job sells drugs. he stays with his mom, me and my baby stay with my parents. i’m like their secretary and are letting me stay here and help me out alot. Im going back to school in the summer. He only comes over when my parents are out of town (truckdrivers). and goes home and hides from us. when i need him to take care of my baby for 1 hour he hides. and ignores my calls. Every month we argue and we can go days with out talking. He wont even call to see how his son is doing. I dont want to file child support thinking everything is going to be ok and as soon he gets a job we’ll be fine. but i see no action. all my friends tell me to file child support. he not mean but he is not putting his part of being a dad.

I live in PA.
I make $270 a week she makes a little more then me.
Insurance for the child is free.(Chip)
She told them the babysitter is $75 a week.(which is a lie)
She has the child One more night then me a week.
She won’t go 50/50 because she likes the free money.(And I don’t have money to go back to custody court)
She cheated then left me for a guy because he makes alot more money then me.
She moved my child it a stranger’s house.
She claim’s the child ever year on income tax That’s $2,400 she get’s.
(Last year I was supposed to get half,That’s another reason she left when she did)
She is living in a townhouse just got a newer car and out partying every night spending my money that I could be spending on me and my own kid.
The lady didn’t even look at her income taxes from last year or even ask me if I have to pay for a babysitter!
(She always gives the kid to her grandparents/Friends she never even has the child)
My Support is $63 a week!
(+ $900 for Rears,So there taking $83 a week out of my check till I catch up)
Does this seem fair?
Should I file an appeal?
If I file an appeal There just going to tell me the same BS?
I can’t afford a layer anymore.
and they say I make to much to get a free one.LOL
I’m selling most the stuff I own just to make ends meet!
I’m in a bad neighborhood with a crappy car,can’t afford to go to back too school.
I feel like such a loser.

We live in Kentucky.
Here is our story:
My husband was divorced from his ex wife in Sept. 02. The divorce decree stated that they have joint custody of their two minor children. It also stated that his ex wife was to carry insurance on the children cause she had a job that provided insurance and my husband was self employed, having no insurance. Its stated he was to pay off their mini van and once it was paid off he would pay 50% off the insurance on the children. He was ordered to pay 300.00 in child support. And pay off all THEIR credit cards.
About 7 months later, his ex wife dropped her insurance through her employer, went and applied for a medical card without notifying my husband. She did not ask the court or anything. Then, the medical card office contacted my husband telling him he had to pay for the charges she had already made with the medical card. This was a shock because he had no idea she had done this. She then, took him to court to up her child support. The courts (one judge inparticular who has ruled everything you read, and unjusticely we believe) forced my husband to put insurance on the children AND pay 100% of the costs. AND still pay for her mini van. She got away scott-free. My husband did not have insurance on himself, infact we had already gotten married and we had a daughter. We only made around 100 dollars more than his ex in a month and WE had a medical card for our daughter cause we qualified for it having low income. My husband had to get a second job just to put insurance on the children. He did not know what to do and we had no money for an attorney. He also loved his kids and wanted them to have proper medical care.
About 6 months after that his ex wife contacted the court and wanted to move 5 hours away to her home town in West Virginia. She claimed that SHE had no family here, and had alot of support in WV and she wanted the court to allow her to move there and take the two minor children. She told the judge that she had a job lined up and a house to live in. The judge believed this and did not even have her prove it, (turns out she did not have a job lined up or a home) The judge ALLOWED her to take these children from the only life they have ever known, including their schools, church, friends, father, and brother and sister. How is this is in the best interest of the children? It was inthe best interest of the ex wife! His ex wife only has a sister where she moved to and doesnt even hardly speak to her.
So, my husband lost his children and it has been impossible for us to hardly see them. The court said thathe and his ex wife had to meet halfway every other weekend to let him have the children. Which did not happen.
My husband and I then lost our skating rink business, the owner of the building we rented sold the building. We had NO MONEY and had two children of our own. This was in December of 03. My husband went down to the child support office in our town and they told him there was nothing he could do about child support being lowered. My husband believed this and we fell behind on child support. They took what we were behind on out of our taxes. We moved to IL cause it was the only place we could find a skating rink to run. We paid 371.00 in child support. We NEVER saw the children hardly at all because his ex wife NEVER in two years met him ‘halfway’ to see his kids. He had to drive all the way down there and back to get them and bring them home. From IL to Wv was a 8 hour trip one way. My husband and I did not know if there was anything we could do, we were clueless.
We lived in IL for 2 years, barely making it and still struggling to pay the 371.00 in chilld support. My husband them got a wonderful job offer from my father and we moved back to KY. This also put us closer the his children. We had just got some debts paid off and we were still struggling cause we had another baby, so we had 3 at home now. We faught with his Ex to see his other two kids and she always has excuses as to why we cant. My husband has done everything he know s to do to be with his kids. There are all these account of dead beat dads, and people are always complaining, but here is a man who WANTS his kids, and the court allows his ex wife to move and take them 5 hours away! SO, just this year in May his ex wife goes behind our back and files for a child support evaluation. My husband has to work out of town alot, he makes salary but gets extra pay when he goes out of town. The judge modified his child support based on his total income including his extra pay and we now have to pay 951.00 a month. His ex claims she only makes 2,200. a month and my husband with extra pay makes 4,000.00 (only 3,100. or so salary without extra pay) but we cant keep going and having it modified everytime his extra pay is gone and then goes back on. He left me when I was pregnant to smoke dope. I didn’t know where he was when my son was born so I didn’t call him to come to the hospital, so he is not on the birth certificate.
I wasn’t going to ask for child support initially, because I don’t want him to have any custody over his son if he is high on meth 100% of the time he is awake. He begged and begged to meet his son, and when he was 4 months old I caved and gave him the chance… which he blew off to smoke dope.
Now, when I look at my son I’m pissed at him to no end, and I want child support. He doesn’t have a job so I’m not going to get any, but if he ever pulls his life back together he needs to contribute to the life of the child he made. He shouldnt just be allowed to knock up a dozen women while he roams the street getting high all day and night. He has another son in Cali who he walked out on 8 years ago. She filed for child support and he has to pay when he works.
He is not on the birth certificate… and I don’t want him awarded any custody because he’s always high… what are the steps I have to take to prove to a court he’s the Father, and to request he take a drug test if he wants visitation? I’d put money on it that he won’t even show to court. He was ordered to go to rehab in lieu of prison for violating his probation for getting caught shoplifting with dope on him, but he never went, so Im sure there is a warrant for him.
I also don’t have the slightest idea where he lives, so I don’t know how they’d serve him. Last I checked he was homeless and robbing people to pay for hotels so he could sell drugs out of them to have money to use them. What a winner right? His mom keeps me well updated, she and the rest of his fam are just as pissed at him as I am. She is the one who strongly insisted I file for child support.
I can’t afford a lawyer at all. So, I need to figure out what I need to do on my own and make it happen. I know absolutely nothing about how anything in family court is done. I live in Phoenix, AZ. Any advice you could give would be a major help. Thank you!

Thing is my family and I are the sole contributors to all finances dealing with my daughter. My daughter is 5 years old and her mom has 3 other children and has never worked anywhere.They all live with the her mom along with her 16 year old sister that has 2 children and has never worked. The grandmother is retired and there isn’t anyone in the household that works. I told my daughters mom I would file my daughter because I owe back child support almost four thousand dollars and by me filing her it would clear me..So days later she told me I could not file her because she was going to let her mom claim her and give her a thousand bucks. All I wanted was to to clear my credit report and pay my debts but she clearly wants to sell her children off for the benefits. Is that fair that the custodial parent make a decision like that or is it that how people use the system to their advantage. The 8332 form is a joke and as long as she lives and doesn’t work she’ll never give me that right..

Where To File Income From Retirement Annuity?

I receive monthly income (small amount) from a retirement annuity. At the beginning of last year, I moved from the west coast to the east coast. Several months into the year, I changed my address with the annuity company.
Now, they sent me two 1099-R forms for 2008……. one showing a portion of the income reflecting CA as the state, and the other 1099-R form shows the balance of the income reflecting NC as the state.
Do I have to file a state return in both states because of this? I actually was in NC in 2008……. I just didn’t put through a change of address right away.
